My Evil Eye

from Less Than Nothing by Joe Bailey

/

lyrics

I hide myself, to hide all.
I brace myself, for the dogged downfall.
I cross myself, when night falls.
I lock myself, within these cell walls.

And I fight with the senseless fury,
Trying to alter the state of mind.
I'm the ink slinger in this story,
I need a champion to get behind.

When my eyes are glued to bright lights,
Then the flies infest my own sight.
Everyday, my green eyes take a piece of me...

When my eyes are glued to bright lights,
Then the flies infest my own sight.
Everyday, my green eyes take a piece of me,
Extract the brain from me...

Once upon a time, I was a picture on the wall, glowing in the light.
The lights were fading, and the colours would run into the darkness of the night.
Although my evil eye has no place here, he is rigid and relentless.
And the butterflies, they still dance inside of me, they are drawn to the light.
And the other flies, tag along for the ride, no matter how hard I fight.
And the green lights are burning holes in my skull, they wear me down and it hurts.

Will I ever procure my own medication?
Could I maybe gain and induce an operative cure?
Could I rid the demon of his own creation?
Can I expel the flies out through my pores?

I hide myself, to hide all.
I brace myself, for the dogged downfall.

And I fight with the senseless fury,
Trying to alter the state of mind.
I'm the ink slinger in this story,
I need a champion to get behind.

When my eyes are glued to bright lights,
Then the flies infest my own sight.
Everyday, my green eyes take a piece of me,
Extract the brain from me...
